Our History
Built in 1862 as a village school it served this purpose to the Cholmondeley tenants until its closure in 1982. However, 6 years later its role changed, still creating a focal point for the Cholmondeley tenants.

The old schoolhouse was converted into a village pub by Julian and Ginny Harrison and Guy and Carolyn Ross-Lowe. The pub still maintains many of its original features and creates a charming and characterful place to visit. Still under the same ownership the pub has been decorated with awards for its continued quality in food, drink and Accommodation.
